Bad news for those hoping to see Ruby Rose in person on panels at the 2019 Comic-Con International in San Diego: Due to production commitments for a very ambitious episode that is currently filming, the actress will sadly not be able to make it to SDCC this year.
“I’m not going to be there, which stinks, a lot. But just know that we tried everything that we could humanly to be there,” Rose said. “It wasn’t until really now that we realized there wasn’t any other way to finish this episode, this ambitious episode that we’re doing, and create this amazing show that really is special. We want you to love it and be proud of it, and be entertained, and to laugh, and to cry and to be empowered.”
You can see Ruby Rose’s video announcement below; it seems from the video that production tried to make it work but unfortunately, it just couldn’t. She did, however, promise she’d “make it up” to the fans that are missing out. It had been known for a while that production was tight — Batwoman is the only one of the Fall DC TV series from The CW not to be doing a press room — but apparently, it got even tighter.
Ruby and her costumed alter ego Batwoman are featured heavily at this year’s Comic-Con, with Batwoman even featured on banners across the city.
